    Definition

Stanza is a multilingual Python tool for linguistic text analysis.

The pipeline segments text and recognizes, among other things, lemmas, parts of speech, syntactic relations, and named entities. Which analyses are possible depends on the language and loaded models.

    Simply explained

Like an automatic sentence analysis that labels words and their relationships.

    Why it matters in practice

Multilingual texts can be uniformly prepared for search and analysis.

    Example from business

Hypothetical example: A company extracts organizations from German- and English-language reports.

    Limits and pitfalls

    • Linguistic labels are not automatically business terms; model quality varies by language and domain.

    Origin & history

Stanza is developed by the Stanford NLP Group and uses, among other things, Universal Dependencies.

    Use in mid-sized companies

    • Multilingual information extraction and investigation of text corpora.

    Frequently asked questions

Does every language need the same model?
